Wicked’ is a spectacular show. There are lots of elements that make it very powerful and beautiful to see. It’s an expensive show; it needs lot of effects, makeup and costumes to create the different scenes. Everything is huge and you feel like you watch a lot of things at the same time. Just the stage is beautiful. When you arrive at the theatre you see a huge dragon at the top of it that is moving in ‘No One Mourns The Wicked’ and a map of Oz. The most important characteristic of ‘Wicked’ is the spectacular effects. They are memorable and amazing, really beautiful to see.

In ‘Wicked’, is a story about humanity, about two friends, but in a magic world. So, lots of effects are needed to make the people from the audience believe in what’s happening in front of them, on the stage. That’s not an easy job but it becomes real from the first minute. Some monkeys fall from the sky and dance in front of you and then Glinda appears flying in a bubble. It’s crazy, but extraordinary to watch. Everything is about technology and lot of people working at the back of the stage so we can enjoy the views.

Elphaba is a green woman and that means a lot of makeup to make it possible. But also, lots of characters wear a wig and masks. So they are changing the costumes and their wigs all the time, very quickly from scene to scene. That means a good coordination from all the people who work at the theatre, the actors and the rest of the team. It’s like watching a film but live, because everything looks so real and possible that seems real, like in a movie.

Probably, the most popular scene and breathtaking from ‘Wicked’ is ‘Defying Gravity’. It’s amazing and spectacular, is probably one of the better endings of the first act, or maybe one of the most famous. I think that there are a few things that make it work so well. In the first hand, the song is epic and the passion keeps growing from the beginning, waiting to get to the climax when Elphaba is flying. Also, comes the moment when Elphaba is flying and singing high in the air, with all the orchestra playing loud and the guards trying to stop the witch from flying away. It’s stunning; I got goose bumps every time I watch it.

Wicked’ is a theatrical experience with lots of effects that are very innovative and new. The effects make the show more similar to a movie than a stage performance, because of the spectacular scenes. Probably that makes it very lovely and memorable for lots of fans around the world.
